BREAKING: Two people dead, ten injured in Cedar Rapids shooting | Cedar Rapids


UPDATE (5:00 a.m.) — Cedar Rapids Police have confirmed that there were approximately 10 people injured in the shooting. 

Police said it happened at the “Taboo Nightclub and Lounge” at 1:27 a.m. The establishment’s Facebook page has gone offline since the shooting. Officers were in the area on routine patrol and were able to respond quickly.

The injured were taken to several area hospitals for treatment.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) – KWWL is working to learn more about a shooting that happened in downtown Cedar Rapids early Sunday morning that left two people dead. Police also confirmed that there are multiple people injured, but were not able to provide an exact number.

Police tell KWWL the scene has been secured and there is no further threat to the public at this time.

It happened at 415 3rd Street SE in Cedar Rapids, across from “The Map Room” restaurant, around 1:30 a.m. Pictures and video posted to social media show a large police presence and a number of ambulances at the scene earlier in the morning.
