New Spinoff Company Aims to Create Digital Solutions with 'Next-Gen' Technology » Dallas Innovates

North Texas has a new standalone company aimed at tackling key business challenges through edge technology.

InfoVision, a Richardson-based digital transformation and consulting firm, is spinning out its Digit7 business, which focuses on developing customizable and scalable digital solutions through “next-gen” technology, as an independent entity.

“The launch of Digit7 marks an important step in its evolution,” said Raman Kovelamudi, InfoVision co-founder, in a statement. “The last two years have seen the solutions mature with product-market fits getting established. The idea that we had is now ready to build its own market, brand, client, and partner ecosystem.”

Leveraging tech like machine learning, AI, blockchain, robotics, and 5G, Digit7 creates digital products to offer “a seamless journey towards digital transformation” for businesses. Products it has developed include a smart self-checkout solution, an auto-image annotation platform, a retail inventory movement management system, and an indoor supply chain management drone.

Tech leader tapped as CEO

Tapped to lead the more than 50-person Digit7 team is CEO Chithrai Mani, who most recently served as the chief technology and innovation officer for InfoVision. In addition to co-founding A2i Technology Solutions, Mani has worked at Infosys, iLink Systems, and other companies. Mani is also a member of the CompTIA AI Board, the Forbes Technology Council, and the Dallas Regional Chamber.

“The speed of technology evolution in the past decade and particularly in the last two years have made technology the most important differentiator for businesses—every company has to be a technology led company,” Mani said in a statement. “We aim to enable businesses get that technology edge with our products.”

Richardson ‘innovation lab’

According to InfoVision’s website, Digit7 was created in 2019 under the name NxtGEN iLab as a way to rapidly prototype concepts. Last year, Digit7 said it set up a 15,000 square-foot “innovation lab” in Richardson. The company also says it has offices in India.

The company currently lists 13 open positions on its site in areas like product sales, data science, and computer vision engineering.

InfoVision was launched in 1995. According to the company, it has more than 2,200 employees across nine offices globally.

“The main vision of Digit7 is to extend the focus on long-term technology revolution for key industries,” the company wrote. “It also believes in creating products that offer a different experience to the consumers, helping owners increase their ROI—ultimately making lives more convenient than ever before.”
