NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet is giving an update on the state’s flood crisis from the Northern Rivers.
He said there are more than 1200 people in temporary emergency accommodation in the region.
There have been 9200 assessments of houses.
Of those 5500 are damaged – 2834 which are not habitable
Mr Perrottet is also announcing another funding package for people unable to live in their homes.
This will provide 16 weeks rental support in the form of $6000 for single person households and over $18,000 for families.
He said the government will bring in motorhomes and look into longer-term housing solutions.
