Russian military capabilities along the Ukraine border are “near 100 per cent of all forces” that the Pentagon anticipated Russian President Vladimir Putin would move into the area, a senior US defence official has said.
“He is near 100 per cent of all the forces that we anticipated that he would move in. He is getting near at 100 per cent,” the official said.
Mr Putin has a “full range of capabilities” already moved to the Ukraine border, including “significant offensive missile capability,” the official said.
The official said the US has indications — based on intelligence as well as visual evidence — that “they (Russian forces) have advanced their readiness to a point where they are literally ready to go now, if they get the order to go.”
