(WKBT) – If you’re out and about in this scorching heat this weekend, UW Health is offering some sun safety tips.
Experts say skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States.
They say more than 9,000 people are diagnosed with skin cancer everyday in the U.S.
“Even five blistering sunburns when you’re younger has a significant impact on your risk to developing skin cancer later in life,” UW Health dermatologist Dr. Apple Bodemer said.
Some tips that UW Health shares:
-Avoid midday sun.
-Wear protective clothing.
-Wear broad spectrum sunscreen and reapply it often.
