MSUB radiology technology program acknowledged for high-quality education | Success Stories

The radiologic technology program at City College at Montana State University Billings continues to present itself as a high-quality, professional learning environment for radiography and medical services.

The program has been granted its initial accreditation from the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) for a period of three years. The radiologic technology program is now the only radiologic program in Montana with the JRCERT accreditation.

The JRCERT is the only agency that is recognized by the United States Department of Education and The Council for Higher Education Accreditation for traditional and distance education of radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry.

Accreditation significantly increases the value of a program as it ensures the public of quality education and professionality within a field. The Radiologic Technology program was evaluated by the Standards for an Accredited Educational Program in Radiography (established in 2014) and achieved desired compliance.

The radiologic technology program at City College is a two-year associate degree. “Accreditation is the primary means of assuring and improving the quality of higher education institutions and programs in the United States,” said Victor White, director of Radiologic and Ultrasound Technology programs at City College. “Students receive a hands-on, quality education from experienced faculty before they enter the workforce.”
