Breaking: Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka has torn thigh muscle, Euros could be in doubt

According to a report from kicker, Bayern Munich star midfielder Leon Goretzka suffered a torn muscle in the back of his thigh against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday, which will sideline him for the rest of the Bundesliga season.

Goretzka only had a brief appearance on Saturday before being forced to leave. The injury leaves the German in a very precarious spot as his status for the European Championships could be in doubt:

FC Bayern’s number 18 suffered a torn muscle fiber in the back of the thigh. It was not a simple injury, the diagnosis showed. This is the end of the season for Goretzka.

The main goal for him is that he will be fully fit by the European Championship on June 15th (kick-off against France). Allegedly it could be a race against time, it is said from Munich. Goretzka plays a central role in the plans of national coach Joachim Löw in midfield.

Goretzka will have roughly five weeks to recover for the Euros. Hopefully this is a quick and seamless recovery for Goretzka.
