Monday qualifiers have been in the news this week after Michael Visacki’s phone call to his dad letting him know he’d qualified for the Valspar Championship went viral. But there will be another notable PGA Tour debut at Innisbrook on Thursday. A record-breaking one, in fact.
Introducing Jordan Hahn, who will surpass—literally—a record as soon as he hits his first shot in the opening round. Standing at 6 feet, eight inches, the University of Wisconsin product (2019) will go down as the tallest recorded player to ever tee it up on the PGA Tour. How’s that for making a mark right away?
Here’s a little more on Hahn, who fired a 66 on Monday to earn a spot in the field:
At 6-foot-7, Phil Blackmar is believed to be the tallest golfer to play on the PGA Tour. He’s definitely the tallest to win on tour, collecting three titles during his career that spanned from 1985 to 2000.
George Archer (6-foot-5.5) is the tallest golfer to ever win a major. Archer won the Masters in 1969.
Patton Kizzire is currently listed as the tallest full-time player on tour at 6-5, an inch taller than 2020 Masters champ Dustin Johnson, Matt Kuchar, Tony Finau, and Stewart Cink.
Hahn has a 2:17 ET tee time on Thursday with Ryan Brehm and Kramer Hickok.
