The state of Maharashtra recorded 67,123 fresh Covid cases, which is the state’s highest daily spike. Maharashtra also reported 419 deaths over the past 24 hours.
While the case fatality rate in the state is 1.59%, the recovery rate is as high as 81.18%
While the state discharged 56,783 patients on Saturday, a total of 30,61,174 Covid-19 patients have been discharged after full recovery until April 17.

Out of 2,35,80,913 laboratory samples collected, 37,70,707 have tested positive (15.99%) for Covid-19 until today.
Currently, 35,72,584 people are in home quarantine and 25,623 people are in institutional quarantine.
As of April 17, there are 6,47,933 active cases in the state

Maharashtra reported 63,729 fresh cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours. With the fresh spike in Covid-19 cases, Maharashtra’s total tally has mounted to 37,03,584.
Apart from the fresh jump in cases, the state has also registered 45,335 recoveries on Friday. So far, 30,04,391 Covid-19 patients have been discharged after full recovery in Maharashtra.
The recovery rate in Maharashtra currently stands at 81.12 per cent.
The state has also registered 398 Covid-19 deaths that have taken the case fatality rate to 1.61 per cent.
Maharashtra’s previous highest single-day jump in Covid-19 cases was recorded on Sunday as the state registered 63,294 new infections.

According to the Union Health Ministry, 10 states comprising Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal have shown a steep rise in daily new Covif-19 cases accounting for 79.10 per cent of the new infections.
On Friday, India’s recorded an unprecedented spike of 2,17,353 new Covid-19 cases in a span of 24 hours.
The health ministry said Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala cumulatively account for 65.86 per cent of India’s total active cases.
Maharashtra alone accounts for 39.60 per cent of the total active cases in the country, the ministry said.
