Beaufort police on-scene of murder investigation, 1 person dead

On Sunday, April 11, Beaufort Police Department officers responded to a report that a man had been shot. Officers located the man’s body in the 2500 block of Southside Boulevard. “Our patrol received a call about an individual who has been shot in the early morning,” said Captain George Erdel for the Beaufort Police Department. Joanna Thompson has lived in this neighborhood for six years and says this shooting does not make her afraid. “This doesn’t make me fearful, I don’t think this is a dangerous neighborhood.”Below: Photo from the scene Officers are actively investigating the scene. It can take days, months, to find out what happened, but we will not stop until we find out what happened.
