A devout Christian since 2015, Brian Webb had it in his heart to open up his own restaurant.

After driving trucks for Walmart for 22 years, it was time for a change.

That change for Webb was the Breaking Bread restaurant in DuBois.

“It made a lot of since given that it was going to be a restaurant. Breaking bread was the first communion when Jesus broke bread and said eat this in remembrance of me,” said Brian Webb, Owner of Breaking Bread.

Breaking Bread opened it’s doors a few weeks ago, but Webb is no stranger to the kitchen.

“I’ve always cooked for my church all the time and I cooked for as many as 300 people at one time but I had 6-8 hours to do it in now to where I have 5-8 minutes hopefully to get it out,” he said.

Webb said COVID-19 didn’t have much of an impact on opening.

“It really didn’t affect us opening us now hopefully we’re at the end of it and we can go on from here and get back up to 100% pretty soon,” he said.

That hope to come soon.

Under Governor Wolf’s order starting April 4th, restaurants will be able to open their dining rooms to 75% capacity.

“It will definitely help us open up more seats and allow more people in here,” said Webb.

Breaking Bread is open every Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m.-2 p.m.
