Work continues as State Technical College of Missouri’s Linn campus continues to expand with the construction of a Utility Technology Center.
The center was originally expected to be completed in October, but the COVID-19 pandemic created delays related to suppliers, State Tech President Shawn Strong previously said.
Strong said during Thursday’s Board of Regents meeting they now believe the first phase of the project will be done by the end of March.
The board on Thursday approved moving forward with design work on the second phase of the project.
The building will include an indoor utility lab large enough to let students practice digging holes to place utility poles and to climb the poles.
There was no word Thursday on when the second phase of work might be completed.
The board also approved an agreement between the college and the State Technical College Foundation to manage the Osage Country Club. State Tech took over operation of the Country Club last year. School officials said the foundation board would sign off on the agreement next week.
