Mets' Francisco Lindor shows signs of breaking spring funk

Observations for the Mets’ 7-5 spring training game win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday.

Oswalt Sharp

Corey Oswalt recorded five strikeouts over two shutout innings in the Mets’ 7-5 exhibition victory over the Cardinals on Sunday at Clover Park. The right-handed Oswalt — who is depth for the bullpen and rotation — was making his Grapefruit League debut.

Getting There

Francisco Lindor is just 3-for-19 (.158) in the exhibition season, but he reached base twice Sunday, with a single and walk.

Caught My Eye

After an epic 22-pitch plate appearance that ended with a walk, Luis Guillorme swung at the first pitch in his next at-bat and lined out.

Monday’s Schedule

The Mets have the day off and the complex will be closed.
