Novant Health facility in Brunswick County reschedules 400 second dose vaccine appointments

Four hundred second dose appointments would be rescheduled, Rebecca Bean, senior vice president, said during a Friday press briefing. A shipment of 800 doses specifically allotted for “events” had not shipped as of Friday.

As of Friday, the Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center was still waiting on a shipment of Moderna Covid-19 vaccines, after extreme weather led to delays of vaccine shipments across affected regions. 

Four hundred second dose appointments would be rescheduled, Rebecca Bean, senior vice president, said during a Friday press briefing. A shipment of 800 doses specifically allotted for “events” had not shipped as of Friday. 

An update from Brunswick County said that next week’s shipment is expected to cover appointments for Feb. 22-26. But it is still possible some appointments may be rescheduled, according to the news release

According to the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services, 975 doses of the Pfizer vaccine were shipped to the Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center. Limited quantities of the Pfizer vaccine were shipped last week, though no Moderna shipments had been sent out as of Thursday afternoon.
