Health departments report 35 new cases in southern Illinois

(WSIL) — Health departments across southern Illinois are reporting 35 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, January 7, 2021.

Franklin County:

  • Females: one teenager, two in their 30’s and two in their 60’s.
  • Males: one in their 40’s, one in their 50’s and two in their 70’s.

To date, there have been a total of 4,145 laboratory confirmed positives in Franklin county of COVID-19, including 56 deaths. So far 2,656 have recovered.

Jackson County:

  • Female: 1 in her twenties, 1 in her sixties and 1 in her nineties.
  • Male: 1 teen.

Health officials are currently monitoring 124 active cases. Jackson County has had 4,524 cases to date, with 68 related deaths. Of those cases 4,332 individuals released from isolation, including 15 Sunday.

Saline County:

  • Female: 1 in their teens, 2 in their 20’s, 3 in their 30’s, 1 in their 40’s, 1 in their 60’s, 1 in their 90’s, 1 demographics unknown-case status in progress

To date, Saline County has had a total of 2,362 lab confirmed positives, including 43 deaths.

White County:

  • Female: 1 in their teens, 1 in their 60’s
  • Male: 1 under the age of 10, 1 in their 60’s

Williamson County:

  • Females: one in their 20’s and one in their 30’s.
  • Males: one teenager, one in their 30’s, one in t

To date, there have been a total of 6,865 laboratory confirmed positives in Williamson county of COVID-19, including 111 deaths. So far 4,134 have recovered.

Illinois Department of Public Health:

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reported 2,060 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease Sunday, including 48 additional deaths.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 1,146,341 cases, including 19,633 deaths across the state.

A total of 1,342,857 vaccines have been administered.
