City Council Welcomes Newly Hired Information Technology Director

Hopkinsville City Council welcomed the city’s new Information Technology Director at Tuesday night’s meeting.

Darryl Anderson, who was recently hired to replace Joe Grace when he retires as the IT Director was formally introduced to City Council members during the virtual meeting.

Human Resources Officer Kenneth Grabara said they started the hiring process in November 2020 and received 18 applications for the position which was narrowed down to three candidates. Grabara said they selected Anderson who has several years of IT experience.

Anderson said he was born in this area and attended Pembroke Elementary School and graduated from Northeast High School in Clarksville. He went on to get a Broadcasting degree at Murray State University and a graduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University in Electronic Communications Management.

Anderson said he has worked in technology leadership roles around the country for almost 20 years.

He added that what he has learned during those years is that technology touches every employee and he tries to learn from his team.

Anderson said he looks forward to this new and exciting opportunity to work for the City of Hopkinsville.
