PHOENIX — Align Technology announced on Wednesday that it has moved its global corporate headquarters from San Jose to Tempe.
The medical device company’s new world corporate headquarters was effective Jan. 1 and is located at The Watermark on the northwest corner of Scottsdale Road and Tempe Town Lake.
“Tempe is proud to welcome the Align Technology corporate headquarters and its 150 jobs to our tech-based business community,” Mayor Corey Woods said in a press release.
“The move of this company from San Jose to Tempe — especially in the midst of a pandemic — demonstrates Tempe’s continued strength as a hub for medical device technology.”
Align designs and manufactures products such as Invisalign and iTero intraoral scanners and services in addition to computer-aided design/manufacturing software.
“We must continue to invest in new products and technology that benefit our doctor customers and their patients,” Align CEO Joe Hogan said in the release.
Align’s campus in San Jose will become the company’s new Digital Innovation Center and is currently under construction.
“This change will afford many new opportunities for Align to expand its industry-leading digital capabilities through innovation in San Jose while achieving greater, long-term operating efficiencies in Arizona,” Hogan added.
“We chose Tempe for our new corporate headquarters for many reasons, including its proximity to San Jose, favorable corporate operating environment, low cost of living and overall quality of life.”
