Watch Bruce Springsteen Perform “Land of Hope and Dreams” at Biden Inauguration Event

Bruce Springsteen helped celebrate Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ Inauguration Day celebration tonight (January 20) with a performance of “Land of Hope and Dreams” at the Lincoln Memorial. Springsteen opened the evening’s Celebrating America event, which is hosted by Tom Hanks. Watch Springsteen play the song solo on acoustic guitar below.

Biden’s Celebrating America inauguration event also featured performances by Justin Timberlake and Ant Clemons, Foo Fighters, John Legend, and more. The swearing in ceremony earlier in the day featured performances from Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, and Garth Brooks. New Radicals reunited at the virtual parade to perform “You Get What You Give.” Katy Perry closed out the evening with her hit “Firework.”

Springsteen has been part of the Biden campaign since the 2020 Democratic National Convention, when he appeared in campaign promos that were soundtracked by songs from The Rising. He also narrated one of Biden’s campaign ads just prior to Election Day. Springsteen previously performed an Inauguration Day event for Barack Obama and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Obama in 2016.

Last year, Springsteen and the E Street Band released Letter to You, which was named one of Pitchfork’s “35 Best Rock Albums of 2020.” Read Pitchfork’s Sunday Review of Nebraska.
