TRUSSVILLE — A Trussville police officer was taken to the emergency room after being involved in a crash on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021.
Trussville Fire and Rescue, Trussville Police and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene around 8 p.m.
“Officers were heading north on Chalkville, en route to a call, when the collision happened,” said Sgt. Adam Filetti.
The two-vehicle crash was a head-on collision, according to Filetti. It happened near the intersection of North Chalkville Road and Green Drive.
The officer was taken to the UAB Medicine Freestanding Emergency Department in Gardendale, according to Trussville Fire Chief Tim Shotts. The officer is expected to recover.
No other injuries were reported.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
