Students at Williamson County Schools will not return to campus following the district’s winter break Jan. 5.

The district has moved to have all grade levels learn remotely due to increasing coronavirus cases in the area.

Remote learning will extend through at least Jan. 8, including on what would have been a previously scheduled asynchronous day, according to a Jan. 1 announcement on the district website. The Jan. 8 asynchronous day will now be a remote learning day.

As of Dec. 31, Williamson County had 2,294 active cases.

Exceptions to the remote learning days will include students with special needs or those without internet access, according to a social media post from WCS Board Member Rick Wimberly.
