Baby Yoda and Breaking Bad Cross Over in New Art

Jim Lee recently drew a mashup between The Mandalorian and Breaking Bad, which features Baby Yoda snacking on Los Pollos Hermanos.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2, Episode 8, “Chapter 16: The Rescue,” streaming now on Disney+.

Throughout the entirety of The Mandalorian, Grogu — better known to fans as Baby Yoda — was known to have a rapacious appetite. Now DC Comics’ Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee has drawn the Force-sensitive child with a snack from another pop culture phenomenon.

During a Twitch stream, Lee drew an image of Grogu with a taco and soft drink from Los Pollos Hermanos, the fried chicken restaurant seen in Breaking Bad. “Drawn with affection during my semi-regular live art stream on http://twitch.tv/jimlee,” Lee wrote on Instagram and Twitter. “Wrong captions only…” In the background, the wreckage of a Taco Bell can be seen.

In Breaking Bad, Los Pollos Hermanos was the front for a money-laundering operation run by Gustavo “Gus” Fring. Giancarlo Esposito serves as the link between both franchises as he portrayed Fring in Breaking Bad and Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian.

The Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, “The Rescue,” saw Din Djarin rescue Grogu from Gideon’s clutches. However, Grogu chose to go with Jedi Master Luke Skywalker in order to hone his abilities. Djarin also found himself unwittingly becoming the ruler of Mandalore after he took the Darksaber from Gideon.

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito. Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on Disney+.
