Roane State to go remote after winter break

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Roane State Community College announced Thursday that it would be going remote in the week following its winter break to reduce the spread of coronavirus.

Between Jan 4 and Jan 8, the campuses will only be accessible to essential personnel.

“We have advised students, faculty and staff to consider the latest CDC recommendations when making holiday plans this year,” Roane State President Dr. Chris Whaley explained. “This brief remote work period is an additional step we can take to keep our campus community healthy while still assisting students ahead of the spring semester.”

Spring classes are set to begin Tuesday, Jan 19 and check-ins are set to resume Monday, Jan 11.
