The clinical trial for a coronavirus vaccine being developed in Australia has been abandoned.
Several trial participants returned false positive HIV test results, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
People on the trial have not been put at risk.
University of Queensland was working with UQ, with Australian biotech company CSL on the government’s billion dollar deal to buy 50 million doses of the vaccine.
The report says the government pulled out over fears about public confidence in the vaccine.
Australia has bought various different vaccines, including one from Pfizer and another by Astra Zeneca and Oxford University.
