The Day – Water main break repaired in North Stonington


The Day - Car thefts, break-ins continue to plague police in East Lyme, elsewhere in region

North Stonington — Crews on Tuesday repaired a water main break on Mystic Road, according to the Southeastern Connecticut Water Authority.

“If customers in the Kingswood/Meadowood area, and along Mystic Road, experience air in your lines, please run your water for a few minutes,” SCWA posted on its website. “We apologize for this inconvenience.”

General Manager Josh Cansler said SCWA was alerted of the water main break around noon on Tuesday and crews were slated to wrap up the job by 4 p.m.

SCWA posted on its website that customers in in the Kingswood/Meadowood area, and along Mystic Road, were expected to “experience little to no water pressure” as crews worked Tuesday afternoon on the repairs.

Cansler said one side of Mystic Road, in the area where the crews were working, was temporarily closed.

Approximately 150 customers were affected.
