Long Beach to offer winter break programs for kids and teens – Press Telegram

Long Beach’s Parks, Recreation and Marine Department will offer in-person programs for kids and teens during the Long Beach Unified School District’s winter break.

To prevent the further spread of the coronavirus, the programs will have lower staff-to-camper ratios and other safety protocols.

The programs include nature-themed workshops at El Dorado Nature Center for kids ages 5 to 8, camps at parks citywide for kids ages 5 to 12, and activities for teens at parks and community centers throughout Long Beach.

El Dorado Nature Center workshops

The sessions will last from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 22 to Dec. 24 and Dec. 29 to Dec. 31. Each session costs $20 and pre-registration is required.

Those interested can register online beginning Tuesday, Dec. 1, at longbeach.gov/park or in person at the El Dorado Nature Center Museum, 7550 E. Spring St.

Kid camps

People may register beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at longbeach.gov/park. To make an appointment to register in-person or to apply for financial aid, call 562-570-3150.
