INDEPENDENCE SCHOOL DISTRICT STUDENTS WOKE UP TO A PLEASANT SURPRISE FRIDAY. — Independence School District students woke up to a pleasant surprise Friday.
Superintendent Dale Herl tweeted that the district will extend its Thanksgiving break by two days.
It will now include the Monday and Tuesday before the holiday, making the break the whole week of Thanksgiving. Students will return to class on Nov. 30.
The Independence School District will not have school on Monday, November 23rd or Tuesday, November 24th. Early Education, Kids Safari, and all programming will also be closed. Enjoy your extended Thanksgiving Holiday! We will see you Monday, November 30th. pic.twitter.com/xL3CqZiYWp

Early Education and after school programming is also canceled on those days.
The superintendent did not cite a reason for the decision.
