CNOS/UnityPoint Health welcomes Wilson as PA | News, Sports, Jobs

The Community Health Center of Fort Dodge is hosting a virtual “mask”erade funderasier in place of its traditional in-person event this year.

The virtual event includes a raffle ticket drawing, online auction and mask photo contest. It will kick off Friday and run through Nov. 13.

Raffle tickets are on sale now at Shimkat Motor Co., 3126 Fifth Ave. S., or from Community Health Center employees.

Tickets are $25 each or five for $100. Prizes include a $2,500 Visa gift card, $750 family photo package from Memories in Focus and $500 grocery gift card from Hy-Vee or Fareway.

The online auction will start at 8 a.m. on Friday and end at 4 p.m. on Nov. 13. Auction items include goods and services from local and regional businesses and can be viewed and bid on at biddingforgood.com/chcfortdodge. Items will be on display at Shimkat for those wanting to see them in person.

A mask photo contest will take place on the Facebook event page for the virtual fundraiser.

“We are having a little fun with the theme this year,” said Regina Suhrbier, outreach coordinator for Community Health Center of Fort Dodge. “We are all living in a new time where masks are the new normal. I have seen some really fun ones around and we are encouraging the community to take a photo of them in their most creative or interesting mask and then post that photo as a comment on the registration post on our Facebook event.”

Health center staff will judge the entries and three winners will be chosen to receive a $25 gift card.

The Facebook event link can be found at www.facebook.com/events/339242354005474.

Money raised during the event will help with expenses at the clinic, including going toward the purchase of Venoscope devices, which help to identify hard to find veins.
