A.J. Perri Offers In-home Technology that Kills Coronavirus on Surfaces

TINTON FALLS, NJ – A.J. Perri, which provides HVAC and plumbing services to New Jersey residents, is offering an in-home air purification technology proven to kill 99% of the virus that causes COVID-19 on surfaces.

A.J. Perri is part of ARS/Rescue Rooter, a network of plumbing, and home and commercial heating and air conditioning businesses. ARS/Rescue Rooter partnered with Aerus, the global leader in surface and air purification services, to make the air purification product available to contractors within the ARS network.

The Air Scrubber attaches directly to a home’s existing HVAC system’s ductwork to purify the air in a home. The equipment uses Aerus’s ActivePure® technology, developed by Aerus in partnership with NASA to protect the astronauts on the International Space Station.

“The ActivePure technology enables the Air Scrubber to not only disinfect and purify the air but surfaces as well,” said Christian Dunning, general manager of A.J. Perri. “The technology converts free oxygen and water molecules into powerful oxidizers that are released back into the room. These molecules continuously seek out and destroy the room’s pathogens and contaminants.”

According to the company, the technology destroys over 99% of all surface and airborne contaminants, including allergy and asthma-triggering contaminants. Although it has not been scientifically proven to kill airborne SARS-CoV-2, an independent laboratory study performed on Aerus’s Hydroxyl Blaster air purifier, which uses the same ActivePure technology as the Air Scrubber, showed that the technology reduced 99.98% of the SARS-CoV-2 novel coronavirus on surfaces.
