The underdog Giants, led by an aggressive defense and an effective offensive attack, led the visiting Buccaneers at halftime, 14-6. The Giants’ offense made quick work of Ronald Jones’ first quarter fumble, as Daniel Lewis found Dion Lewis for a seven-yard touchdown pass three plays after the turnover. New York, following two more forced punts by its defense, stretched the lead to 14-3 after Wayne Gallman capped off a 10-play, 77-yard drive with a two-yard touchdown run. Tampa Bay, led by Tom Brady’s six completions on the Buccaneers’ final drive of the half, set up Ryan Succop’s 40-yard field goal just before intermission.
