NYPD cops break up raucous party in Brooklyn

The NYPD crashed a raucous Brooklyn party that had descended into violence late Saturday, busting 10 people on charges up to assault, according to authorities.

Cops responded to an apartment on Monitor Street near Richardson Street in Williamsburg around 10:15 p.m. to find a crush of people, some of whom were openly fighting in the building’s hallway, officials said.

Police arrested the combatants, as well as those rowdy revelers who refused an order to clear out, authorities said.

All told, seven men and three women were arrested on charges variously including gang assault, assault, obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct, police said.

It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the fighting to break out.

The people-packed party came amid a resurgence in coronavirus cases that has seen restrictions reinstated in other parts of Brooklyn, as well as Queens.
