Technology used by the Bolton NHS Foundation Trust in the fight against coronavirus has been shortlisted for a award.
The Trust has been nominated for three categories in the Health Tech Newspaper Tech Awards 2020, recognising the groundbreaking technology being used to help patients.
They have been recognised for their innovation in Artificial Intelligence in the Best Use of AI category.
Partnering up with Qure.ai, doctors were able to use AI technology to deliver faster and more accurate diagnoses by applying algorithms to chest x-rays.
The AI technology has also achieved a nomination also achieved nomination in the overall #HealthTechToShoutAbout category, which selects the best of every shortlisted nomination for a wider overarching award.
Dr Rizwan Malik, Consultant radiologist at Royal Bolton Hospital, said: “We are really proud to be shortlisted as finalists in these two categories.
“It shows the innovative work the entire team is doing exploring new ways of working with AI is being noticed nationally and hopefully helping affect change elsewhere too.”
The Trust is also shortlisted in the Most Promising Pilot category for their implementation of eObservations using Tap and Go technology from Imprivata.
“It went live in just eight weeks and will allow clinicians to electronically record a patient’s vital signs securely using mobile devices.
Now in its fourth year, the HTN Tech Awards will be announcing their winners digitally this year with an innovative awards evening on Thursday October 22.
