Man Arrested For Assault, Attempted Breaking And Entering | Falmouth News

Police arrested a Boston man for assault, attempted breaking and entering and trespassing last Saturday, September 5.

At 10:37 AM, officers arrived at the corner of Chapoquoit and Associates roads on Chapoquoit Island where Tariq Alouani, 52, of Buttonwood Street, Boston, was involved with an altercation with a security guard. Just before, a nearby homeowner had called 911 about an attempted breaking and entering at his home. Mr. Alouani was gone before officer arrived, but they found him walking down the road, according to Falmouth Police Lieutenant Douglas DeCosta.

The security guard didn’t want to pursue criminal complaints and nor did the homeowner. The suspect was allowed to continue on his way, according to the police report.

Mr. Alouani later confronted the homeowner at the West Falmouth Market and threatened to him with a rock. He then tackled him to the ground. Officers arrived and charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon (rock), attempted breaking and entering daytime and trespassing.
