Boone County to issue new health orders Friday morning

COLUMBIA — In response to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in Columbia and Boone County, local leaders will announce new health orders during a community briefing at 9 a.m. Friday. 

The new orders will go into effect immediately. 

Stephanie Browning, Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services director, will speak at the briefing, along with Boone County Presiding Commissioner Dan Atwell and local higher education representatives.

The briefing will be held in the council chambers at Columbia City Hall, 701 E. Broadway. Social distancing measures will be in place and masks are required.

The briefing will begin at 8:55 a.m. It can be viewed live on the city’s website, or on Spectrum 992, Mediacom 80 and CenturyLink 96.
