“The particular legislation that passed in the general assembly was ultimately created and approved by the legislature to protect state property, to protect from vandalism, to protect the run of law, to prevent what we saw happening with the destruction of businesses and property and state property and that happened in our streets and everyone saw it and we don’t want that to happen in the future,” said Governor Bill Lee during a press briefing.
