Police in Boston said a 15-year-old juvenile from Framingham was arrested Thursday and charged with the arson of a Boston Police Department vehicle on Tremont Street on Sunday, May 31. The Boston police cruiser was vandalized and burned during a night of violence and looting.The 15-year-old male, whose name was not released, was brought to Boston Juvenile Court on a warrant on charges of arson of a motor vehicle and inciting a riot.The arrest comes just a few days after the FBI Boston Division, working with the Boston Police Department and the Boston Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Unit, released photos and a video of two men, who were captured on camera near the cruiser. Just before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, two Boston police officers responded to a call for assistance and parked their vehicle on Tremont Street near Bosworth Street in downtown Boston. Shortly after, several individuals vandalized the cruiser, breaking its windows, and eventually setting it on fire, destroying the Boston Police vehicle.Boston Police said they continued to review the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident and asked anyone with information to contact the Boston Fire Investigation Unit at 617-343-3324.
