Officer wounded and suspect dead after shoot-out in Lansing

LANSING, MI. (WILX) — Tuesday night a Lansing police offer is hospitalized with a gunshot wound after a confrontation at a home on the 900 Block of North Chestnut street.

Lansing police tell us officers responded to calls of shots fired inside the home and a possible fire inside.

When they arrived they made contact with a man.
He came out of the home an fired a gun.
Officers fired back.

6 were involved.
One of them was struck by a bullet in the leg and taken to the hospital.
That officer is expected to recover.

The suspect a 37 year old Lansing man is dead.
We’re told he was shot by an officer.
The police believe a woman in the home was assaulted by the suspect.
