A man and a woman wanted by Prattville police for breaking into a car and using the owner’s credit cards are now accused of doing the same in Wetumpka.
According to a CrimeStoppers news release, the man is believed to have broken out a person’s car window while it was parked in the 7400 block of Tallassee Highway in Wetumpka. Then a purse, with the victim’s wallet and credit cards, was taken from the front passenger seat, according to the news release.
Both the man and the woman then went to the Walmart in Wetumpka arriving in the same white SUV, believed to be a Jeep Cherokee, but entered and exited the store separately.
While inside the Walmart, the woman was seen using the victim’s credit card to make a purchase, according to the news release.
The pair are also wanted in connection to similar theft in Prattville during which a woman’s car window was broke, purse stolen and credit cards used at a nearby retail store.
It’s possible the pair may have done similar car burglaries in other jurisdictions, according to the news release.
Anyone with information regarding this crime should call the police or CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP (7867) or 1-833-AL1-STOP.
