Joe Diffie Dies At 61 From Complications From Coronavirus :

’90s country star Joe Diffie died Sunday (March 29) from complications from coronavirus, according to a statement from his publicist.

Diffie announced that he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Friday (March 27).

“I am under the care of medical professionals and currently receiving treatment,” he said in a statement at that time. “My family and I are asking for privacy at this time. We want to remind the public and all my fans to be vigilant, cautious and careful during this pandemic.”

Diffie earned nearly 20 Top 10 country hits during his career, including the No. 1 hits “If The Devil Danced (In Empty Pockets),” “Third Rock From the Sun,” “Bigger Than the Beatles,” “Home,” and “Pickup Man.” He was also a member of the Grand Ole Opry for 25 years.
