6:12 A.M.
Las Vegas Fire and Rescue says crews responded to a fire at a vacant, boarded up motel on First Street near Bridger Avenue and Main Street. Squatters in the building were escorted out, according to firefighters, and there were no reports of injuries.

OVERNIGHT
Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting that left one man recovering in the hospital. According to authorities, the man was home alone at a residence on Linda Vista Street (near Arville and Sahara) when he heard voices at his back door. Officers say that’s when the man grabbed a gun and confronted two other men on the property. One of them came toward the homeowner, police say. The homeowner then shot the man in the shoulder and the other took off running. The incident remains under investigation.
