Madison (WKOW) — Congressional leaders and the White House have reached a deal on a massive coronavirus relief package.

It’s the latest effort to help jolt the struggling economy.

Full details have not been released yet, but here’s what we know so far:

  • This is a $2 trillion proposal, one of the most expensive and far-reaching measures in the history of congress.
  • $250 billion will be used for direct payments to individuals and families.
  • $350 billion is set aside for small business loans.
  • $250 billion is for unemployment insurance benefits.
  • $500 billion will be loaned out to distressed companies.
