Monroe water main break causing closure, water issues – Loveland Reporter-Herald

Loveland officials said a water main break on Monroe Avenue will cause a two-block road closure throughout the weekend and may cause discolored water and periodic outages in the surrounding neighborhood.

The pipe break occurred on Monroe Avenue South of 29th Street on Sunday. Two blocks of Monroe, between 27th and 29th Streets will remain closed until repairs are complete. Officials report that the stretch of road, which is near Conrad Ball Middle School, should be open by Monday.

All schools are closed on Monday due to the Presidents Day holiday.

While the work continues, motorists are asked to drive with extra caution in that area.

Nearby residents may experience periodic outages and may see some discoloration, but “the water is still safe and at quality levels that meet or exceed state and federal standards,” according to a post on the Loveland Water and Power Facebook page.

“You may see some discoloration due to the work being done on the pipe,” city officials reported. “We recommend running the water for several minutes before using it to flush out your line.”
