Multi-million-pound retirement scheme plan for former golf course

Multi-million-pound plans have been revealed to build a vast retirement development at a former golf course.

Up to 100 properties could transform the former Bramcote Hills Golf Course, Thoresby Road, that has been disused since 2008.

Detailed plans have now been submitted to Broxtowe Borough Council planners for consideration.

Mark Jermy, senior partner of Halsall Lloyd Partnership, the architects that have drawn up the plans, said: “The scheme has already got outline planning approval.

“So the access off Deddington Lane has already been approved, together with the principle of development for up to, or approximately, 100 dwelling units.

“That 100 is defined in the more detailed, reserved matters application that’s just been submitted.

“That’s for a mixture of one and two-bed bungalows, one and two-bed assisted care apartments, which we know as extra care units, and then a further 18 one-bedroom, two-person apartments which are classed as independent living.”
