SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. Scottsbluff elementary schools are utilizing the Google Run fundraiser to raise money for student technology.
This technology will help change the way these students do homework while helping to work collaboratively.
With the Google classroom, students can use it for book reports.
Nearpod is an app on Chromebook that provides a digital lesson through a field trip.
Student Jordyn Hyte states that technology does not last forever so you will want to replace the old with the new.
“It’s really important because technology doesn’t last forever,” said Hyte. “It gets worn down and will need something new.”
Student Shayla Burchardi states that this technology makes a great substitute for paper.
“It’s another way and another resource we can use to do things we need to,” said Burchardi.
The participating schools include Lake Minatare Elementary, Lincoln Heights Elementary, Westmoor Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary and Longfellow Elementary.
Each student’s goal is to raise $20 and the money raised stays at their school.
Residents can donate by bringing the donation to the school or writing a check filled out to Scottsbluff Schools Foundation with the selected school in the memo.
The deadline is February 21st.
