Have you hired a home health aide? We want to hear from you: Calling All Readers

CLEVELAND, Ohio — When an elderly or ill person needs help at home, a health aide is often the answer.

Home care attendants provide a wide variety of services, including help with bathing, eating and grooming; light housekeeping, physical therapy and companionship.

Some families choose to use a home health agency that has aides on staff, while others directly hire an independent care provider. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, through 2026, the demand for home health and personal care aides will far outpace the health care sectors growth with an increase of 41% to more than 4 million jobs across the U.S.

Have you or a family member ever hired a home health aide? What was the experience like, and how did you ensure the aide was a good fit? I want to hear your story.

Please write a short email, no more than 500 words, about your experiences with home health aides. Include your full name, age, city and daytime phone number. Please email it to me at [email protected].

Your name, age and city will be published with your comment, but your phone number will be kept private.

Please send comments by Jan. 24.
