Event hosted at Misty’s Dance Unlimited
Event focus on technology’s impact on kids
ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) – Technology is changing the way that kids are learning, communicating and developing.
That’s the focus of the latest Coffee and Conversation event coming up next Saturday morning.
The event will be held at Misty’s Dance Unlimited in Onalaska
The links between screen time and obesity and sleep difficulties will be addressed by Mayo Clinic Health System staff.
Advice on how to help avoid issues in the digital age will also be part of the event.
While technology has become almost unavoidable, there are still things to watch for to keep your kids safe and healthy.
“I don’t want it to be the ‘I’m going to disconnect the wi-fi house and never have my child on an electronic device’, because that’s not going to work. But to try to find that right balance between having kids get exposure, but having it still be safe and a positive experience,” said Kristina Schlecht, Mayo Clinic Health System family medicine physician.
Coffee and Conversation: Childhood in the Digital Age takes place Saturday, January 11th at 10 a.m.
Misty’s Dance Unlimited is located on 12th Avenue South in Onalaska.
It is free to attend.
