Conor Coady has hit out at VAR decisions and claimed the technology is ‘killing’ Wolves following two controversial incidents during their 1-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.
Two incidents in three minutes before half-time encapsulated the best and worst of the review system, with the hosts having Sadio Mane’s goal reinstated after referee Anthony Taylor incorrectly called a handball on Adam Lallana.
On the flip side Wolves had a Pedro Neto equaliser chalked off for another of those marginal offside decisions which are virtually invisible to the naked eye.

Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo was booked after expressing his frustration at both decisions on the sidelines and Coady felt equally aggrieved, saying post-match that VAR ‘is not working’.
When asked whether Wolves felt hard done by, Coady told Sky Sports: “Massively. It’s constantly happening, it’s ridiculous. People are constantly talking about VAR but no-one is asking us about the situation.
“For me, it’s not working. There are people saying they are getting the right results… I don’t know.
“The offside, I can’t get my head around, honest to God I can’t get my head around it. It happened against Manchester City, we managed to come back from it because we showed great character.

“I thought we were fantastic today and showed people how Wolves play. We got at Liverpool and created chances, especially in the second half. You’ve got to realise in the first-half they come out and press you and it’s such a hard place to come but we controlled the game.
“Decisions are killing us, it’s [VAR] killing us, it’s constantly against us.
“People are telling me they are getting right decisions and whatever but we’re the players on the pitch and it doesn’t feel good believe me.”
Fans on social media have been making the ‘Li-VAR-Pool’ joke since Jurgen Klopp’s side rose to the top and stayed there early in the season and this was arguably one of those occasions when a case could be made for the technology working in their favour.
It will matter in the final reckoning, however, if – as expected – Liverpool go on to win their first title in 30 years.
