BREAKING: Paris Wins First Bormio Downhill

Italian speed star Dominik Paris was victorious in the first men’s World Cup downhill in Bormio, Italy, on Friday. Friday’s race was the rescheduled Val Gardena downhill that was cancelled last week due to bad weather.

Paris’ winning time of 1:49.56 seconds was good enough to be 0.39 seconds ahead of second-place finisher and Swiss rival in the race for the downhill title Beat Feuz and 0.42 seconds ahead of Austrian Olympic gold medalist Matthias Mayer.

The American Downhillers were led by Travis Ganong in eighth place. Ganong was followed in the points by Ryan Cochran-Siegle in 11th and Steve Nyman in 24th.
