GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – A Gainesville man is behind bars accused of breaking his son’s leg.
According to the arrest report for Eric Reddick-Johnson, the Florida Department of Children and Family Services received a report that Johnson’s son may have had an injury to his leg. DCF said they noticed that the child had a limp and was dragging his leg. The department had the victim’s mother take him to the hospital where it was discovered he had a broken left femur bone, noting the injury was caused by “blunt force trauma.”
The victim’s sister was interviewed and told authorities that her brother fell out of a van. She said in the interview that her mom told her that the two siblings would be taken away if they said anything.
Later in that same interview, the sister started to talk about her brother’s leg but stopped and said she couldn’t say anymore.
Johnson was interviewed by authorities in late October of this year. He said the victim fell out of the car. The mother told authorities the same story.
Johnson is in the Alachua County Jail charged with Aggravated Child Abuse. He has a $250,000 bond.
