GEORGETOWN, Del. – Georgetown Police arrested two people early Monday morning following an investigation into several thefts from parking meters in the E. Market Street area.
We’re told that shortly before 2 a.m., officers on patrol in that area saw a male wearing dark clothing and tried to make contact with him, but he fled on foot. He was quickly apprehended in the area of South Race Street, and officers found a second individual in a private parking lot who was found to be a co-conspirator.
Surveillance footage from the area confirmed that the two men, identified as 34-year-old Chad Wilson and 42-year-old Christopher Marshall, had damaged and stolen money from the town parking meters.
Wilson was charged with felony criminal mischief, conspiracy, two counts of theft under $1000, and one count of criminal mischief under $1000. He is currently being held at SCI.
Marshall was charged with resisting arrest, felony criminal mischief, two counts of theft under $1000, and one count of criminal mischief under $1000. He is also being held at SCI.
