The following is a roundup of breaking news from around the Las Vegas valley.

4:15 P.M.
Crews are responding to a vehicle fire near Russell and Pecos roads. A taxi caught fire while on a tow truck. No word if there were any injuries.

UPDATE 4:05 P.M.
Las Vegas police say a patrol vehicle was involved in a crash near Lake Mead Boulevard and Rancho Drive. An officer was transported to UMC Trauma with non life threatening injuries. The driver of the other car was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation, police say. Impairment is not suspected at this time. The intersection is closed indefinitely while police investigate. Check back for updates.

4 P.M.
Las Vegas police are asking for help locating Norrita Karels, a missing person who they believe may be endangered.

Norrita was last seen on Nov. 30 at 11:30 p.m. in the area of Windmill and Las Vegas Boulevard. She was wearing a blue jacket and brown pants. Police say Norrita may need medical treatment.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Missing Persons Detail is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a Missing Endangered Adult, Norrita Karels.

All hospitals are asked to check their registries for Norrita Karels and notify the police immediately. It should be noted that HIPAA permits disclosure upon request by law enforcement and is authorized pursuant to 45 C.F.R. section 164.512.

Anyone with information regarding Norrita Karels whereabouts is strongly encouraged to contact the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department at (702) 828-3111 or the Missing Persons Detail during business hours at (702) 828-2907.

3:18 P.M.
There is a crash near Lake Mead Boulevard and Rancho Drive. Lake Mead is closed in both directions at Rancho. Use other routes.
